With all of the BCS changes occurring

Apr 26, 2012, 2:08 PM

do you they will change the number of wins in order to make a team bowl eligible? I think it should be at least 8 wins.

Nope, and nor should they

I have no desire, at all, for less football games during the holidays.

I'd like to agree with you but with some of the dreck we get in these boondock bowl games I just cant. one thing that would help all the teams is less layoff between last game and the bowl. even good teams get out of sing w too long a break.

The chance of a good game (however small)

Apr 26, 2012, 2:21 PM

is infinitely better than no chance of a good game.

You are right the time period between regular season and bowl games can cause issues, but we already accept that for the ONLY truly important bowl game (Championship game).

The Southern Illinois Tractor Farm and Cheese Dip bowl may be a bust. But it may be good, and any no sane person is confusing it with a big time bowl. I just fail to see the issue with it's existence.

understood in that department. I guess I was looking at it more toward the awarding mediocrity and the level of play. Of course teams do not need an additonal incentive to play well, but it would certainly set a higher goal to acheive.

I just don't see any harm

No one really mistakes the low level bowls with the better games.

Or at least no one sane does that.

Apr 26, 2012, 2:46 PM

Let's look at the money.......

Apr 26, 2012, 2:59 PM

I have been wondering if conferences would not net more money if we only sent the 3 best teams to really good bowls rather than an additional 3 to ho hum bowls.

In this case it should be about the net return.

Now for all the Nancy's........ this is just an simple mathematical question!
