Some headlines on ESPN today...

about Texas A&M/Texas and WVU/Pitt talking about potentially renewing their rivalries. It made me think: How important are those rivalries to those schools/fans if they allowed them to even be suspended? It makes me almost appreciate the Yardbirds when you consider that neither of our respective fanbases or administrations would EVER allow that to happen. That would be almost as sacrilegious as cheering for the other side. It made me realize just how much more important Clemson/South Carolina is compared to some of these other-- often times, more hyped-- rivalries.

Georgia has "many" rivalries but if you talk to hard core Georgia fans were one of their favorite games!

The Coots have no other significant rival , and they are lucky to exist in our state . Nobody else would want to be associated with that heap ...so I guess we're stuck using them for target practice until Coastal or the Citadel put on their big boy pads .

I think...UGA was the mutually-agreed rivalry and the coots

were merely an obligatory rivalry due only to the geographics. I still don't understand the fixation nowadays. I'll appreciate uga rivalry and won't ever appreciate the coots. They've had their 15 minutes of fame and now return to their 100 years of lame.
