Gary is probably playing on a rotation too.
With that said, it's hard for me to imagine there being a better freshman in the country than Dexter Lawrence.

Yea, I'd be interested to see their individual snap counts. I know for a fact that Gary was not playing very much at the beginning of the season, so his numbers being lower makes sense. That said, Lawrence has certainly faced stiffer competition by going against Auburn, GT, and Louisville...meanwhile, Michigan just had their first road game of the season and it was against Rutgers.
Regardless, they're two very impressive players.

Lawrence is playing in a loaded rotation as well...
Also of major note: Lawrence has amassed 23 QB pressures already this year. That's absurd.

we would be crazy, nasty deep if we had gotten Gary. Hope it all works out for him, and he is happy. He just looked as though he was being told what to do on signing day.

they will make both Clemson and Michigan better teams with their play on the interior of the defensive line.
Would have been great to get them both but certainly glad we got one of them and Big Dex seems to be a great personality from what I have heard and read. Clemson definitely got a great player and representative of Clemson University!

crickets... this is a case of both making the right decision

if Gary was scared off by a fake "threatening phone call from a Southern racist"
or somehow confused which personality he'd like better as a coach -
Jim Whorebaugh or Dabo Swinney -
then clearly Gary made the right decision for himself,
regardless what his uncle or Mother wanted.
And Dex is clearly the latest incarnation of
William Perry, Michael Dean, Chester McGlockton, Trevor Pryce, et al
All great Tigers, all great #ClemsonMen.
love that we got!

Yeah yeah....
"Sure would have nice to have both", blah blah.
We got the one we were supposed to have. Dexter is hands down THE best Freshman in the country. Dexter is a Tiger! Gary chose not to be. At this point, why should we care??
We got the better player. No drama, no having to stroke any ego's and have a tremendously talented high character kid.
Move on!
Go Tigers!!
