Winning with speed and station to station

Feb 24, 2019, 10:04 AM

are polar opposites. An uncharacteristic mistake from our fine tigernet writer in the article on one of yesterday's games.. Station to station implies a reliance on the long ball. The old Earl Weaver 3 run bomb strategery. Very little reliance on the hit and run, stolen bases and small ball. Winning with speed implies a heavy reliance on these strategeries. (A nod to Presdent Bush 43 for creating the wonderful malaprop "stratgeries").

The points he made about surprising power are certainly on point. The good thing is we are also winning with speed. A lot of steals etc to go with the big bats.
