I missed the line in the article where it discussed

Jul 20, 2012, 11:44 AM

I missed the line in the article where it discussed, how much You Tube was paying for the rights and/or how much revenue per school this generates?

I'm sure neither are doing it for free

Jul 20, 2012, 11:50 AM

But YouTube is a huge enterprise, and the fact that it's a worldwide thing (mostly), and has zero to do with TV subscriptions, west-coast fans can join in. It reminds me of when netflix suddenly went to streaming instead of only mail DVD orders. They made huge bank.

I also said if it's done right. It could be done like sh!t too, but here's hoping it all works.

Yes, this was actually a genius idea. Media markets are shifting more and more from cable based to streaming internet. The ACC will really be leading the pack here.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That download speed hasn't been developed yet :)

Jul 20, 2012, 1:51 PM [ in reply to This ]

Too bad it'll have to be developed by an ACC school before it exists.

GO TIGERS!!!!!

Valid question. I was told last week it would be up this week. Apparently they dont know when it will be up.

Pathetic that it has taken this long.

Bellamy not being eligible is 100% on Bellamy.***

Downvoted for truth.

It is amazing how sites with MUCH more complicated lay outs and designs can completely revamp their site over night but ours has been down for a really long time.

Definitely good for the ACC and its exposure.

Jul 20, 2012, 2:41 PM

Of course some will still find reasons to complain.

The ACC really has the most fan friendly media contract of all college football conferences with all of the games (football and beyond) available streaming on ESPN3, TheACC.com, and now Youtube.

Surprised that the ACC's spin doctors have flubbed this

Jul 20, 2012, 9:44 PM [ in reply to Definitely good for the ACC and its exposure. ]

important component of its recent media deals. You're absolutely correct in stating that our media coverage has produced the most fan friendly product in the country - and by a wide margin. We haven't been saddled with PPV fees in the past and won't be in the future. The new 3rd tier ESPN deal ensures that every football and basketball game league wide will be available to virtually anyone anywhere with internet access - at no additional cost and with a production quality equal to HD broadcast. Throw in the expanded coverage of soccer and baseball and it's actually not a bad set-up.

Is this extra exposure worth $3-5 million per year per program? Possibly.
