Why pitch to Dantzler???? Needed a Double Play!!

I don't get it. Walking Dantzler sets up a DP to end it but instead you give him a chance to hit a deep fly ball to end it. Maybe Jack was just ready to go home. That was IDIOTIC!! My kid could have made that play.

Probably should have walked him but to be fair dantzler has not been hitting well lately. I can see going for the strikeout.

Plus if you walk him you are still in a situation where any ball leaving the infield beats you. Except now you have a guy up who has been swinging better than dantzler. Plus matthews isnt sloe. No guarentee you can turn the dp on him.

Hey Dummy there was men on 1st and 3rd.. the double play was setup with Danzler at bat..pay attention

At first and second yes, but a play at any base increases the chances of getting 2 outs. I realize where the runners were. A double play doesn't only happen at 1st and 2nd.
