When Dabo ripped CW a new one...

that wasn't as much for CW as it was for the rest of the team. I have no issue with that. And I bet CW doesn't either.

Wilkins deserved it...

It was a stupid thing to do and he knows it.

Eh, much worse isn't flagged

He didn't taunt, he didn't do a choreographed dance, he didn't take his helmet off or gesture to the opposing team or fans, he didn't hold the game up for any serious period of time... he struck a pose for about 2 seconds.

I understand that if it gets flagged Dabo has to do what Dabo has to do. I would imagine the discussion was like many I've had with my kids over weird rules at their school... "Ok, I'm with you that that rule doesn't seem to make sense, but they get to make the rules, and we have to follow them. I have to hold you to follow them because that's my job. Don't do it again, cause now you know better."

Dabo was correct, as I remember the penalty on kickoff resulted in a usuck td.

The penalty literally gave them 2 yards.

It went from a likely touchback (them getting the ball on the 25) to a return which got them to the 27.

The kickoff team covered the kickoff pretty well.***

he made it about himself. the call was right.

getting chewed out for it was right as well. Wilkins has always been a bit immature. Time for him to grow up.

Don't think immature is the right description. He does act

like a kid at times but that's part of what makes him such a great teammate and Clemson guy! This "kid" has been one of our best leaders and players Clemson has ever had! We are really going to miss him and Renfrow next year! Go Tigers!

Yeah he should have just run into the endzone, no need to

jump/dive there and risk a turnover. Just use that big frame to run em over and get the six points.

The celebration was awesome.

I don't have an issue with CW celebrating. I personally loved it and was pissed at the flag. However, I also understand Dabo taking a coaching moment with his player.

I think it was just for TV

To us it looked like he was chewing him out, but in real life he was probably like "man that was awesome Christian, we're going to outback later and you get an extra steak!"

I was thinking about risking injury by doing high dive ...

But, after failing on the first attempt, I think he wanted to make absolutely sure he got in.

I'm just giving BigCU a hard time, haha

I didn’t have any problem with it. CW took it like a man and

when he was done, he and Dabo had a laugh about something that was said (saw that in a later replay). It’s all good. It’s what coaches do. I suspect anyone crying about it never played competitive sports.

Dabo doesn't want CW to get too big for his britches.

CW will say he has no problem with it but who wants to get chewed out on national television like a 6 year old kid. Some say it’s great coaching and setting an example, I say it’s out of character for Dabo and could be handled at practice.

Why not penalty for power ranger pose? similar pose.....plus

screw the heisman after 2016......

This is what I don't get. Why is a TD any different than a first down

Posted: Nov 26, 2018 9:16 PM

or defensive play? By that logic, they should flag every first down signal (which I hate) that players do, or any defensive celebration.

It was a dumb penalty

DW4 did far worse and I don't recall him ever getting flagged for it. That was an SEC ref being spiteful. Dabo was just doing the coach thing and saying "look what you caused us." But if it were me I would have just shrugged it off as a stupid flag.

It must have appeared worse on PawVision.***

I suspect that there had been a discussion about potential penalties and not giving refs any potential reason to throw a flag.

Man, I was thinking “what the heck did clipboard Jesus do now?”***

That little 2 second "Hiesman pose" was not a bit worse

Posted: Nov 26, 2018 10:21 PM

than what he, or most any other D-lineman, does after any sack they get! Just a case of an SEC ref trying to show his authority!
