Why is Texas going to the Cotton Bowl? They have 4 losses

all this hubbub over UGA who should go to the Sugar; and A&M is more deserving of the Cotton than Texas. And they wonder why their hokey bowl got left out of the BCS to begin with.

because Texas fans would fill a 100k seat stadium on their own, and spend massive amounts of money on concessions, hotels, and restaurants.

The entire bowl system is a complete mockery. College football is the greatest sport in the world in my opinion, but I also believe it has the worst postseason imaginable. The past few years have tarnished any luster the BCS bowls ever had. Honestly, if the NCAA is going to present the BCS bowls as the "elite bowls," get rid of these ridiculous tie-ins and just make it the top 10 teams in America regardless of conference. Instead, politics, bowl-tie ins, and money continue to make bowl season increasingly dull. The majority of bowl matchups are uninteresting and many are complete mismatches. I hope we eventually see an 8 team playoff without any conference tie-ins.
