Why does bama never ever play down to their opponent and lose?

I just don't understand with kids that age how they somehow never lose a game they shouldn't to a lower team.

1) They play to a standard and not the opponent
2) SEC offenses stink!!!
We have number 1 mostly down but ACC offenses make it tough to dominate like Bama. Teams are going to make plays period. Remember we put up 400 yards and 30+ Pats twice against Bama that's not a fluke thy aren't invincible they just don't play great offenses.

Alabama is a run-based machine. Everything they do is predicated upon trench warfare - obliterating people at the LOS, on both sides of the ball.
It's not skill-based. It's assignment-based and strength/power based. They're bigger/stronger than you, and they fill the proper assignments. They will always have the superior physical talent (we are not in their league, as is no one else in college football), and they're just playing the numbers.
What it means is, they don't have to worry about one of their receivers having a bad day. They don't have to worry about their QB missing some throws. The passing game largely only exists to Alabama inasmuch as it keeps the opponent honest - that changed a bit under Kiffin, but has reverted back with a vengeance under new OC Brian Daboll.
Teams that beat Alabama do so by making the game three-dimensional, by making Alabama defend every blade of grass on defense as opposed to just allowing them to dig a trench and build a brick wall at the LOS. You play that game and you'll lose; you win by going over their heads and putting the ball into space - and making plays, as we did.
If you can't do that, they obliterate you.
Nobody on their schedule thus far has remotely been able to spread them out. They won't be challenged until someone does.
Clemson is a more "complete" team than Bama. We are not as good as they are at trench warfare. Or honestly even close.

That, and this year the fact they play

possibly the weakest power 5 schedule among any contender. Even Cuse would boat race Vandy, Ole Miss and Arky. Not as bad as Bama clearly, especially defensively. But they'd score a bunch. Bama's schedule this year is as bad as it gets. And they still have the likes of Miss St and Tennessee left

Saban threatens to take away their steroids and/or actually hold them accountable for rules if it's an important game

Good question. Glad we didn't play down to them.

Like Ole Miss?
Their undeniable record of achievement sells itself. What that buys is extreme talent. Saban might literally donate a kidney if it would keep his team focused.

Their coach won't let them.

George Patton wouldn't let his "team" of 18-22-year-olds lose either.
They were more scared of him then the Krouts.
Bama boys are more scared of Saban than the Devil.
