Why does anyone pay to watch games, when they're all streamed?

With an HDMI chord you can watch any sporting event, from CU football to horse racing, for free on your flat screen. Do older folks not understand this tech or opposed to it? With all the uproar with the ACCN a few weeks ago, it was baffling for younger fans bc we all knew there would be multiple free streaming options.

Please enlighten everyone and specifically list the free streaming options for every sporting.

Go on Bing or duckduckgo and search for cfb streamed games. You'll find multiple options. Livestreamz is just one. Don't use Google bc they hide working results.

AND use duckduckgo because they protect your privacy***

Frankly Brady, I'm one of those old guys who'll take any help I can get.

I suppose whether it's illegal - I'm NOT one who thinks those poor old mega-giant behemoth "providers" need all the help they can get.

I for one would love to learn new tricks - old dog or not.

The only thing that’s free is bad advice.

Is an HDMI chord similar to a G- Minor?

Kind of. It's a chord that shows whatever is on your laptop on the screen.

I’m very old. I cast my phone, tablet, or laptop to my tv. Is this HDMI “chord” thing something new? I must be behind on the times.

Totally misses the point that cables are not needed...so much for being the technology genius here to lecture all of us olds.

I think you’re thinking of the brown note.

Don't even bother with an HDMI cord. Just watch on your computer (hopefully you have a least 27 inches).

Let's get real about this weekend: We are playing Charlotte. Charlotte!

Do as suggested and get a stream going on your PC monitor. Then 30 mins later turn the TV on and watch ND vs. UGA along side.

Double-screening is mandatory this Saturday for those of us without the ACCN.

Just trying to get answers and all you old farts do is mock

By the way, still having cable is far from wise. It's like buying CDs. It's cool and all, but unnecessary.

Call people old farts and get mocked. Simple.

Now as far as having cable/dish/pay streaming being unwise, so is stealing.

those sources are not stealing...

if they were, they would be shut down. there are illegal sources, but most are not...

If they are providing access to espn, accn, secn etc outside of a broadcasting contract with those networks, it is 100% illegal.

Uhh they are being shut down

It's just that they are popping up everywhere and a lot are hosted in places that are hard to shut down. Wonder how many people that advocate for this also like to work for free?

I like what I have since I don't pay extra to get it, and it's completely legal. Thanks.

Just an Etch-o-Sketch, 2 cans and a length of string should do it.

Free streaming of sporting events=illegal. Thanks but no thanks.

BTW, I do stream with YouTubeTV. Also have dish because I like it and am not a poor thief like yourself. HTH.

Ive tried some streaming before mostly on reddit/cfb. I found it had a ton of popups and some of the more obscure games did not have a stream listed.

I like watching all kinds off football, not just what is on the main espn. I also like not worrying about finding a stream and just turning on my tv.

I also worry about the potential for virus. What do you do to mitigate that risk.

As they say - You get what you pay for...

Posted: Sep 18, 2019 9:29 PM

A lot of these pirated free sports streams is crap quality. Many of the streams are unreliable, lots of buffering, pixelated crap that looks horrible on anything bigger than a cell phone screen. Furthermore, a lot of these sites want you to install their software in order to get the stream - say hello to malware.

If that kind of thing floats your boat for free - have at it. As for me, I'll gladly pay for a reputable, reliable, hi-def quality stream of my Tigers playing football.
