No Way!

There is no way ugay is in the same league with Clemson. But for the Hope Scholarship keeping the smarter kids at home, they would still be, maybe, a top 50, but that's about as high as their ceiling gets. No way they are close to us, much less Purdue.

Same goes for University of Connecticut. I've been to their campus and its a dump, and they really must have worked the numbers to get the ranking they did.

We all know every school is doctoring their numbers....explains why Alabama is ranked higher than Auburn, etc...

Why do you say that? This whole thing is based on

Sep 9, 2015, 10:37 AM [ in reply to No Way! ]

numbers, SAT scores, Grad Rate, rentention rate, alumni giving, rank from HS counselors, faculty/student ratio, etc.

UGA is a great school, 3rd best in the SEC behind Vandy and UF.

Not the whole story. Granted, they are looking better in the ratings, but that is due to the state using Lotery $ to keep the smart kids at home. Those kids are the same ones who used to leave the state for better educations. Back then the sub-par educations they got at uga actually cost their parents some money, and many parents saw that what they received was sub-standard. uga is popular now because the state is giving away educations there to the brighter students who used to leave the state for better schools. Kind of like some girls get more popular when they are willing to give themselves away just for a chance to think they really are popular and pretty and desireable. Take away the enticement, and they are right back where they were before. Same professors, same campus, same lesson plans, only now the smart kids stay because their parents don't have to pay when they do.
