Why aren't we talking about Vic?

Sep 29, 2014, 10:37 AM

Everyone and their mother knew what this kid was capable of before the season. It was almost a foregone conclusion that his numbers would not only decline, but possibly significantly decline as other players got more opportunities at the QB.

The kid is on pace to possibly have a better season than last year statistically, while being chipped with a TE, blocked with a RB, or held on just about every single play.

Not only is Vic going to break the sack record (possibly this week), he may set a record that we don't see broken in a long, long, time, if ever. I'm so impressed with his work ethic and drive, and it's safe to say that his seemingly outlandish claim of being better than Clowney may prove to be right.

Vic playing well is like Jarett playing well, it's expected

I never thought his numbers would go down too much simply because it's hard to double team him with the rest of our DL there. Grady demands a double team our else his going to abuse the OG or Center that's put on him.

All I hear is how Vic is good but

Clowney "changed opponents gameplans" which was worth as much as sacks or tackles etc. That he "took away a side of the field". All I know is, if folks are not game planning around #3 they're making a mistake. Beasley is as good or better than Clowney. All he lacks is a game changing highlight tackle in a bowl game that gets WAY more attention than it deserves.

Yeah...he is playing lights out but I do have a remark about his play. I have noticed on watching the replays that he makes a lot of sacks but I swear, it looks as though he is just content with that part of it. It appears to me that he is on the QB so quickly, before they even realize it, that he has had several opportunities to knock/jar the ball loose from their hands but doesn't even seem to try to do it.

He reminds me a lot of the old school LT with his pass rush (no I am not saying he is as good as LT). The thing about LT is that he was always chopping down on the QB's throwing arm trying to jar the ball loose. Just something I think is there for the taking for him.

I'm assuming that if he tried to do just that

We would see you on here complaining that he tries to be too fancy when he should be trying to get sacks.

You are upset because our pass-rush specialist is too concerned with sacking the QB?

Good Lord.

Upset? Yeah, I am livid, been thinking about it all weekend. Just something I noticed on the replay but carry on! Great deductive reasoning and logic skills by the way!
