that would be interesting. i know they sometimes call them the lady gamecocks but it's not official. like the jerseys still just say gamecocks. would it be a first to completely change the mascot to be more politically correct or has it been done before

While it is correct to say Tigress, it also is correct to say "female tiger". Not saying it is impossible, but it would take something outside of what's natural to have a female ----. There isn't a whole lot of logic used down there, though.

If we're getting that technical, it would be Tigresses, not Tigress's, but I'll stick with the Lady Tigers. To be fair to the gamecocks, our high school girl's teams were called the "Lady Stallions", and no one had any issue with it.
