Why are so many semifinal games blowouts?

Dec 28, 2019, 6:26 PM

Is it the 3 week layoff? Is it that most years there are really only 2 elite teams? Would moving to an 8 team playoff give us 4 first round blowouts?

This isn’t good for TV ratings, because I’m sure a lot of people did what I did and turn the channel.

Because one team is way better and it's tough to gauge when different conferences have to play. There are probably 3 SEC teams as good or better than Oklahoma tonight who is missing players.

I don't know, but it's bad for college football, this keeps happening. 8 teams would be a nightmare. Imagine OSU/BAY, CLEM/ORE? It would be horrible viewing

5/6 SEC teams are better today than OK

LSU
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
and Maybe even Texas AM is better than OK on a neutral field.

If you go to 8 hopefully No automatic bid for conference champs. Florida or Penn State would have been better at 4 this year.

Penn St? LOL

I watched part of their game earlier. They were struggling with a group of 5 team we would beat by 30.

They would beat Oklahoma.

Because they won't seed 4 SEC teams in the playoff?***

Because 12 old geezers in a smoke filled boardroom cant decide who the participants should be. This is stupid system and is horrible for the sport. No more voting teams in. Win your conference and you're in. That's it. You have to remove the human factor in selections. Doesnt guarantee great games but no more debate.
