the whole thing is screwy , i will probably get one but have not missed a day of work, should have been case by case through the unemployment office

kind of pointless to cut a $1200 check for a millionaire, but statistically speaking the vast majority of this money will go to working Americans that spend that majority of what they earn. That keeps the economy moving.
But when I see the government resorting to this, It tells me that the next big one is not that far down the road.

I was going to say that most of it will end up at wall mart, payments on loans, down payment on a new car, etc... Consider it lubricant in a stalling economy.

Distribution losses many of them are taking from selling equities they’d prefer not to sell at the bottom of a bear market. Perhaps they should just suspend RMD’s for a year.

stimulus - as in stimulate the economy. When retirees spend that cash, they will be helping the economy recover.

If stimulating, just give money right to the business. If protecting, give money to those that are losing income.

The whole thing was not thought out wellIMHO. The best way to help those in need was UE on steroids, now we send checks out to those that do not need them because they are working or just do not need them at all. What I spent to get ready was not a big deal, but my wife and I will get $2400 when in truth it will go right in the bank saved and not spent.
