Who will lead the team in tackles this coming season?

May 4, 2017, 10:01 PM

I'm predicting Kendall Joseph or Dorian O'Daniel.

I kind of thought ODaniel as well.*****

Tre Lamar to come on strong by mid-season.

Any chance Joseph gets beat out or is he a lock to start?*****

He'll start. And I'm not understanding this Tre Lamar love.

Lamar had 22 tackles last season, mostly in mop up duty.

I think he will turn into a great player, but he certainly hasn't warranted being mentioned for candidate for leading in tackles.

I think people think he is stud who is ready to breakout.

He will be way more experienced and comfortable. He will have had another year in the weight room etc etc etc. I can see why some are excited to see what he does.

I think I remember hearing that Joseph moved to Will and Lamar was playing at Mike on the first team. I doubt Shaq Smith or either of Davis twins take his job; he's pretty athletic and probably has the most knowledge of Venable's defense.

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

Bryson Allen Williams, just my guess. Senior 6ft 2. I read in newspaper when SC was high on this guy years' ago. According to their depth chart online, he was 2nd in tackles last year. Maybe wants a better year this year, who knows. I don't keep up with them, but thought I give it a good guess.

I wouldn't be surprised if K. Joseph or T. Lamar led in tackles for us this year. I still bet on Ferrell to have the most sacks this year though.

My Take

A lot of tackles in their secondary past the LB's.********

I would take that to mean they have weak D-Line and some less than average LB's then. Again, I can only guess. Maybe watched 2 of their games last year. The 2nd one was one where Tigers took em' to the woodshed. Where do they rank in the SEC & Nationally? Not going to be a problem for Tigers either way.
