Jun 9, 2016, 7:34 AM

Rudolph from Northwestern. Played against him in high school, he was incredible. I wouldn't say he has really succeeded at Oklahoma State but he is the starter and has had good games, just been inconsistent

I guess the question is what is the definition of succeeding.

Perhaps not the last but Tony Rice was pretty successful!

You do remember him don't you? The kid Coach Ford couldn't get into school and went on to graduate with honors from ND!

Some say that was the start of Ford vs administration

About TONY RICE......Rice was admitted to ND under Prop 48. I do not recall that he was denied admission to Clemson because of academics and I believe we took Prop 48 kids just like everyone else when that became the NCAA standard.

Anyone else recall it this way?

That is correct. Clemson took several Prop 48 players in 1986.

Jun 9, 2016, 7:51 AM

Solomon? Early '70's QB I think from Sumter. I believe he switched to another position for the pro's, seems like he played for the 49ers.

Freddie was phenomenal....

Jun 9, 2016, 8:14 AM

watched him play in Shrine Bowl. He was like a jack rabbit running all over the field. He was from Sumter...chickens wanted him real bad but he did not qualify. If I remember correctly (which is hard), believe losing him was one of the reasons they wanted out of ACC. He was one of the greatest football players from this state....

Steve Fuller ring a bell? He didn't succeed at the NFL level, but I'd say he represented pretty good in college, as did Joe Hamilton.

Freddie ended up as QB at University of Tampa. They shut down their program shortly after he left. Played for 49ers as WR.

Back in the day (late 50's .. early 60's)their were 3 back-to-back-to-back QBs from Greenwood (Pinkey Babb) that were pretty darn good. Harvey White/ Lownes Shingler / Joe Anderson. Don't recall if either had success in NFL, but all were good college players.

Gotta say the OK State kid. He played in a New Years six bowl, even though they got crushed.

Last memory of Golson was him going to FSU and sucking. Can't believe all these judge, jury and executioners aren't talking about Golson getting kicked for being a cheater and then going to FSU and sucking

Darian Durant from Wilson High School was a solid college QB. Played for the cry babies up in Chapel Hill. Went on to play in the Canadian football league as well.
