SC duck hunters, are you seeing birds?

Jan 5, 2019, 7:13 PM

Bird populations are terrible in NC, the rainfall this fall/winter hasn’t helped as there is too much water around and they are hard to target, and this warm weather is making matters worse. Was just wondering if y’all were seeing birds? Also not seeing the Coots (water chickens, not those in Columbia) that we normally have this time of year.

I got flipped off this morning.

But I explained to my son that, flipping a bird at your father is no way to express your emotions. Then we hugged it out and now everything is cool.

Any chance you have photos of sweater puppies?

And what brings you here?
You must not be familiar with the rules.
A/S/L and a pig of your significant other’s or others’ bewbs...and we’ll consider respecting your posts.
Otherwise, GTFO.

Looks like I found plenty of strange ducks, good grief! I thought that there would be more hunters on the board, guess I thought wrong.

Really depends on what time of day you hit the forum.

Jan 5, 2019, 8:23 PM

I’d suggest Midweek at around 9:15 AM. Lots of hunters sniffing around then.

But honestly, as a hunter, you should sniff around the forum a little to figure out what goes on in here.

What does go on here?***

My son is the big duck hunter. He hunts most every morning somewhere. He has been getting his limit on woodies lately. But he works harder than most scouting and networking with his buddies to stay on the birds.
They were getting a few ringnecks on the big water when they go that route. He mentioned some merganser, pfffttt, and something else when he was on the coast around Christmas.

You are right about the weather and water. They were just doing some pass shooting recently with good success. He tried to get me to go this morning. Like I want to get up at 0430 to shoot at a couple of silly ducks! That's for you youngsters.
