Who is Clemson's most beloved football product

Now and a year from now?

May be CJ today, but I am betting on Sammy as being "the man" long term. Hope he finishes his degree.

Not sure...with a receiver, you need a capable QB to throw

to you to shine. A RB like Spiller needs his own wheels for magic to happen...

Fridge has to be up there

Not only was he a phenomenal football player, but he was a genuinely nice guy.

Had his life size poster in my room as a teen

He is top 5, at least

I can see good arguments for Brian Dawkins, Levon Kirkland, Jerry Butler.

Good one

What about Terry Kinard. Was that story a few months back bogus, or legit? Never heard anything else about it.

my vote too....and if you're old enough to have seen

him play, you know about the passion and ferocity he brought to Clemson linebacker. IMO, he was the individual responsible for making being a Tiger defensive player an honor. If you're not old enough to have seen Jeff play, hit youtube.

I think CJ will be #1 for a while, not only for his

ability on the field, but for his absolute loyalty to Clemson. The Fridge was #1 in his day, for sure.

Like the fact that he stayed, too

And graduated

Not a shot at Sammy...he is making the right decision for him

I hope he finishes the degree. I hear he is only 6?hours short...but I imagine that part is more important to me than him. Would like to be able to call him a fellow alum.

I really like Sammy's humility and physicality

He has been a great ambassador for Clemson. It is his off

The field representation of Clemson that will keep him at the top of my list

Fridge by far

Love CJ and Sammy, but thinking in the long term vs the now, Perry was a national championship player, Super Bowl hero, face of the program, and really put Clemson football on the map. CJ put us BACK on the map, but the Fridge was a pioneer.

Danny.

Took my daughter and niece to Cemetery Hill today

They were duly impressed. My niece was particularly taken with Frank Howard's grave. Then she said "I wish Danny Ford was dead, because I would like to see his grave."

Well I hope he will be on Cemetery Hill, but I imagine he will be "planted" on a farm in Pendleton...and I hope it will be many years from now

After 40 seasons I would say CJ

Great player, great character, stayed to graduate and remains a great ambassador. We've had some other players as talented but I would say none that have shown THEIR love for Clemson more than CJ.

some future star will be the choice, since most people relate to the "known."

One of the greatest Clemson stars was Banks McFadden, who some of us older Tigers knew; one of the most beloved was/is the Fridge; then we have Nuk, Sammy. No doubt another will rise soon enough, therefore making it difficult to single one player out as the best of the best.

The one advantage to longevity has been the chance to see many of the Clemson greats in action. Hopefully, there's enough time left to see many more. lol
