Jan 16, 2013, 3:41 PM

2003: Youngblood, Hamilton, Currie, Crosby/ Elliott (at least at the beginning of the year)

or

2013: Watkins, Bryant, Peake, Humphries/ Hopper/ ?

I think the 2003 class was more talented. JMO

Tough to say, would like to see Hopper in action first...***

very tough

watkins > currie
bryant > hamilton (not based on production to this point, but skills)
peake = youngblood (peake's faster, youngblood had very good hands......very close IMO)
crosby > humphries/hopper (when crosby was ON THE FIELD he was VERY good, unfortunately off field stuff hurt him, I can't call somebody a "BUST" when off field stuff played into the situation......crosby lived up to his 5star billing.....when he was playing)

Sorry, but Bryant in no way shape or form better than D-Ham yet.

not from a production standpoint, but I believe....

Jan 16, 2013, 4:41 PM

his skills/measureables

bryant is faster, taller, and stronger

I hope he "lives up to his billing" from a production standpoint next year..........IMO bryant has the skills/potential to be a "poor mans Calvin Johnson"......bold statement I know, but he's shown flashes of being a phenominal WR.

2013 class has a long way to go before they're done.

Hard to gauge the 2013 class yet ...

The 2003 class was tremendously talented ... but sort of topsy-turvey from a production standpoint versus recruiting expectations.

Youngblood was not highly regarded when he got to campus and sort of evolved into a very dependable WR ... and of course overcame a horrendous leg injury in the process.

Hamilton was one of those recruits that was sort of under the radar out of HS but there was the feeling when we got his pledge that he could end up being something special. If he stays for his senior year, no telling where he might now rank among Clemson WRs.

Currie was a nationally sought recruit in a year when South Carolina has two 5-star WRs coming along. Any other year, he would have certainly been the top WR in the state, but he was in the same class as Roscoe Crosby. Currie ended up having a solid career as a Tiger, but never really lived up to his recruiting hype given how high the expectations were.

Crosby, of course is one of the sadder stories to come along in a while. He was arguably just as good as Sammy Watkins, but we'll never know because of the personal career choices he made and the personal tragedies he went through ...

One productive WR you left out was J.J. McKelvey who had some huge catches in his career ... most notably the big TD at Ga Tech and the long one he caught to help seal the win over Florida State in DV (or was that Youngblood?)

*2013*
Watkins, Bryant, Hopper...and Williams!! This group is going to be lethal!!

1. Sammy - He takes the lead and bust loose with an attitude.

2. Bryant - Finally gets his act together, and shows that speed kills.

3. Hopper - Finally contributes, and Tiger Nation finds out that wait...was worth it.

4. Williams - The X factor folks. This kids attitude, work ethic, and talent is going to be "Sammy 2012 revisited".

DeMarcus and Jenkins who???

We are FINE at WR Tiger Nation
