Where were the Prefabs?

Jul 14, 2020, 11:59 AM

I went to a party in one and it was a wreck. It has holes in the walls, and a gas stove in the middle of the room for heat. The tore them down soon after that.

But I can't remember where they were.

They were scattered all across campus. When I was there in the early 80's, there were some in between Littlejohn and Hwy 93. There were also a good many over around the forestry buildings and up above where the Strom Thurmond pit is now.
I have seen old pictures showing a ton of them where Littlejohn is now.

A few guys were head butting holes in the walls? If so I can tell you exactly where that prefab was in 1981

My wife and I lived in a prefab on Jersey Lane over near the cow barns in 1968 thru May 1970...very close to Perimeter Road. Ray Yeager family lived across the street and Wayne Mulligan was two houses down the road. I went to school on GI Bill and the monthly rent was $30...so the price was right. Our first child was born my senior year and her blood still runs orange (even tho she married NC State grad).
Great place to live and life was wonderful. Will always have fun memories of our times in the prefabs
