Clemson may have 2 5* Lbs in this class

Jan 2, 2016, 3:42 PM

I've seen a several people saying that Lamar should be the first 4* prospect moved up to 5 in the next ranking. It means absolutely nothing on the field, but it does help a little with national perception.

As soon as the esecpn recruiting network gets ahold of this, both will be reduced to 4 or 3 star.

Just my own humble opinion, I'd personally flip the two...I think Lamar is a 5 and Smith is a high-end 4-star, but that's just me.

Lamar is every bit as quick and athletic as Stephone Anthony was and he's even a bit bigger, and he led Roswell down in Georgia to the 6A finals against Colquitt...if you know anything about Georgia football, you know all about 6A, you know all about Colquitt...and you've never heard of Roswell. That kind of gives you an idea how good Lamar was, and what a difference-maker. I really, really like Smith but to my eye I'd just call him a "really durn good prospect" instead of "incredible"...I just think he might need a bit of seasoning before he's really ready to step in and make an impact at the level Clemson wants him to. But those are assuredly Uptown distinctions, whatever...like, the quibble is, are those guys truly Super Elite, or just merely Elite?

Between those guys and Skalski - who I really, really like as well - I do think Clemson got the best LB haul in the country this year.

Different level, for sure.

Ok, your depth chart is something like:

Who joins Boulware on the first unit? O'Daniel? Joseph? WIlliams? Burrell? C. Smith????

Such a burden to have.

Blanks is gone and Wiggins will go back where Blanks was. They are saying Chad Smith is killing it at practice.

he & aiken were recognized on senior day even though

they're RSjrs. they're scheduled to grad on time, can come back, but most of what i've seen reported is they expect to move on.

I fully expect Smith and Lamar to be in the 2 deep next year. Smith probably has the best chance of starting due to the Will spot being open.

Yeah I've seen that too . Lamar has some outstanding ability , and his size and speed are uncommon.
I think our national perception is gonna get that 5th star !

Where is Tre Lamar's tape?

Jan 2, 2016, 7:13 PM

The only one on his profile and the only one I could find online is a bunch of 8 year-olds running around.
