First of all, the "they" are "forces of intolerance". Not Trump supporters, not Republicans. In fact, he never says that these people support Trump, but the inverse (that Trump is friendly to them).
Then he narrows by saying that "some" of "them" are dregs.
I'd actually like to see the paragraph before, because he probably starts somewhere with who the "forces of intolerance" are.

People like you, most people throughout history, Evangelical Christians, Catholics, Muslims, Orthodox Jews, etc, etc. For Biden, we can never go back to that awful time in history- less than 10 years ago- when his administration also said it disagreed with the progress the courts have made; when the small segment of society, including him, were on the majority of nearly every vote concerning the issue the courts made so much progress in, including in California.
