When you watch a game

Dec 22, 2019, 7:32 AM

on the DVR you have time to think. Have never liked OSU or their coaches, players or fans. Watching the 2014 Orange Bowl, a great game. Can't figure why Meyer didn't go for 2 just before the half? Make it and lead would be 3, miss it and lead would be 1. Kicked the PAT and lead was 2 and from my view there's not any difference between a 1 or 2 point lead. Brain fart?????

There’s a big difference between being up 1 or 2 points.

If you’re up by just 1, a td and extra point make it an eight point game, which is one possession. If you’re up by 2 points, a td and extra point give you a nine point lead, which makes it a 2 possession game. Also if you’re up by 2 and you kick a fg (which gives you a 5 point lead), and your opponent scores a td, a fg would give you the lead again instead of a tie.

Also, it’s not a good idea to go for two in the first half no matter what the score is because if you don’t convert, you end up chasing those points the rest of the game. That’s why you hardly ever see coaches do that.

I don't watch games on a DVR.
Once it's over ,it's time to move on.
