Protecting a shut-out for 4 full qarters is very, very hard.

Unless your both very good and very lucky, even the SC State's will find some way to put points on the board unless the starters stay in the game and remain focused the entire time.

Even then, in an era of routine 50+ yard FGs, the keep the other team from scoring is a matter of skill, determination ... and luck.

We got lucky against NC State when they screwed up clock management just before the half.

You're almost better off protecting a 10-0 lead than a 40-0 lead.
