Midseason thoughts, awards and surprises

The Clemson football team will hold a light practice today, then take the next three days off as part of the Tigers’ open date. It isn’t exactly the midway point of the season – they’ve played seven games and have five more in the regular season – but if this team hits the goal of playing in the College Football Playoff and maybe even the title game, seven is about as close to the middle as you can get. Great article!

The only thing that I would add is that the first Clemson turnover against the Wolfpack was a result of a nasty targeting hit on Gallman, which appeared to briefly knock the Wayne-Train unconscious. The resulting fumble should have been negated by a targeting call against Wright for the Wolfpack, who also should have been ejected. Lastly, it should have been Tiger ball - first and goal.

Now I am not making excuses, but if there is one turnover that Clemson should get a pass on, it was on that play. Go Tigers!
