When Paul Johnson leaves Gt

Oct 10, 2015, 1:26 PM

They better hope they get another coach that runs the same offense. They are going to be in the hole for years trying to turn that thing around

Agreed. But if they had a QB like Justin Thomas I think he would be able to come in and run a spread offense. They have plenty of athletes on offense. But they're definitely built to play in that scheme.

Pass blocking would be dreadful for at least 3 years though

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

I agree. He recruits those smaller offensive linemen like Shaq Mason from last year. He needs them to run. But pass blocking is definitely not their strength

Johnson needs to dump that offense

It's predictable, if you stuff the run they're lost.

If he doesn't, he's gonna be looking for a job.

Yeah I don't get why anyone would want a coach that runs that offense. First of all, you will know from the beginning of every season you have no chance of winning a national championship. I mean, let's get real, it will never happen for gt with that offense and those 2 and 3 star athletes. Second, if you get behind by a few tds, you will lose pretty much every time. Honestly, I'm extremely shocked he has lasted this long and won as many games as he has.

They will never let him leave! He

Has an ACC championship, 4 division titles, and an Orange Bowl win... Why would they ever fire him or let him leave?
He's done more for their program than anyone else could, and he's perfect for them. They can't attract top athletes anyway, so why not run a scheme where you don't have to have much talent to win.
