Had that happen once. They changed the whole AC unit, then came back later to switch the thermostat. Worked when they manually turned it on at the unit, but not other wise.
Also, try sticking your pekkor in it and see if that helps.

I'd check and see if it has battery back up, if it does replace them. If you're not getting enough power from the unit, then it's been running off battery for 2 months which might explain it.
Otherwise, it sounds like it might be something at the AHU control board or wiring. Can't really diagnose via internet.

I recall having this issue with my old unit. I hope it's the thermostat connection and not something behind drywall.

I know it sounds crazy but is it runs for an extended period (even in 90°+ heat) the unit can freeze over and basically seize.

and you typically get like $25 off your bill per year or something small. Also if your neighbors' is running I doubt that's the issue then (I think they shut off neighborhood blocks' A/C units, not sure).
It's hard to diagnose over a message board, could be a lot of things.
