Getting ready to be a female head coach in the NBA

What's this world coming to?

Will it really matter? What head coach actually coaches in

the NBA? Looks to me that the players run the teams, ala CleBron.

Brad Stevens. Have you not been watching?

I don't think most people here watch. Not since the 90s***

Mike D, Rick Carlisle, and Nate McMillan all do a great job...Maybe you should watch more than the highlights

I'd agree with all but Steve Kerr

Did you see during the season where he let the team coach themselves? He has Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, two great all around basketball players, and a really good shooter in Steph Curry.

You don't coach isolation basketball

He did it once to prove a point to his players...A point

[1]

that apparently went over your head...His job is to manage the season and make it to the Finals, I would be surprised if he doesn't make it back to the Finals a fourth straight year in the tougher conference, but I doubt you would know that either, you seem to think they play isolation ball.

Re: He did it once to prove a point to his players...A point

Lol what was that point? To prove the players can coach themselves and still score 140? How did the team scoring the most they have scored all year prove his point? You typed a lot but didn't really say anything. I admit they don't play all iso basketball, but with Durant and Thompson there's not much coaching to do

Why are you saying Durant and "Thompson"?

Posted: May 15, 2018 8:24 AM

It should be with Durant and "Curry". Thompson is probably the 4th best player on that team. Behind Curry, Durant and Green. He might be better than Green, but Green is far more important.

Thompson guards the best offensive player every night, and he's a much better all around player than Curry. Curry is simply a shooter. Did you watch the game last night?

No, KT guards the best BACKCOURT player and Curry is their

undisputed floor leader, it all goes through him...Did YOU watch the game last night? If Kerr is not a good coach, why do the Dubs own the 3rd quarter? They turn close games into blowouts after the half, if that is not coaching, what is it?

First of all, they didn't score 140, they scored 129 and it

Posted: May 15, 2018 12:21 PM

was against the Suns, who were without their best player...Halfway through the first quarter GS was down 3 and Kerr called a TO and handed over the clipboard because he was trying to get his team to snap out of it and flip their switch...I would say it worked

Wait, are you implying the Warriors play ISO basketball?

Their motion offense has the least ISO plays in the entire league...

undefeated in this years playoffs when they make 300 or more passes...But it's all Durant isos if you only watch the highlights instead of actually watching games

Before you know it they'll let them wimminz vote too

There are many male coaches of female sports , so what's the hang-up ?
A qualified person is a qualified person .

What difference does it make?

If she can coach she can coach...

Sorry that you are so sexist I guess.

Haven’t noticed. So what’s the pattern?

That some posters have a problem with women in sports.

Such as:

-Women sports commentators on TV
-Women sportswriters
-Women who have any opinion on men's sports

Etc.

It’s funny to hear a female talk about routes and stuff.

Won the Summer League couple of years back...Don't know what kind of HC she will be, but I do know if Pop says she can coach, she can coach...I know that much

I always wanted to see Pat Summit coach the men at Tennessee. If I am not mistaken, I think she had the chance but turned it down. I wonder if fear of failure doesn't keep some men and women from aspiring to coach at the top level.

If you fear failure , you probably never ascend to the top of your profession anyway .

Or so I have heard tell .

Dug ...... There are plenty of people who ascend to the top that fear failure, yet overcome the fear ..... Others don't! I guess the ones we need to be afraid are the ones that should fear it (for good reason), but don't)! I can think of a few ..... Charlie Weiss comes to mind!

Thanks for it .

Why are you so bothered by a female NBA coach?

Does it equally bother you when men coach women's sports?

Contrary to the common group think opinion in this situation, if she’s been granted the position, particularly in this sport, she might very well be the most qualified and deserving of it.

This is not a job given with casual regard or to one who is weak or faint of heart.
