teenagers out trough the neighborhoods the week before the 4th with bottle rockets so my kids can hear it and pester me the rest of the week, “dad, dad, dad, can we go buy some fireworks “.

When I was a kid, an old lady lived behind us. Her grandson,

who lived in Indiana, would visit every summer. Fireworks were illegal in Indiana, so this kid went crazy when he got here. We'd buy the big string of Black Cat firecrackers and he'd light them one at a time just to make it last. We'd shoot fireworks of every variety every night. Lived in a neighborhood. Nobody ever complained. Family dogs ran loose, and I don't remember any of them flipping out. Sorta like peanut allergies, never heard of it then; everybody shot fireworks and nobody complained. any neighbors have that much. Once you become suburban then probably ought to limit it to sparklers and small things that don't pop too loud.
