He is setting the stage perfectly for the reasons Clemson will leave the ACC. He put out there that the ACC needs to make football THE priority and must do things to protect their teams in terms of the national landscape.

Yes he denied any current Big 12 talk and said the "company line" stuff about ACC teams needing to win more to help make the conference nationally relevant. But these are necessary talking points at this juncture.

WHEN we leave the ACC, we will cite reasons such as an inability of the conference to secure bowl tie-ins, playoff inclusion, etc. compared to the SEC, Big 12, Pac 12 and Big 10. It's not always what they say, but how they say it, what isn't said, and what are they setting up for down the road.

The biggest factor I believe is that the ACC, knowing which side the bread is buttered on, ignored the request for fair revenue sharing.

That's the chink in the ACC's armor.
