That I can be, I don’t completely understand this new transfer portal ruling. It seems to me like it will encourage college coaches from every school to continue to recruit kids on other rosters. For instance, would this not have allowed coach Caldwell to contact Brice and tell him that a scholarship is available for him at Duke? The talking heads have indicated that the decision to transfer is up to the player and they will have to find a place where a scholarship is in place. If the coaches can contact players during the season it will create great problems, I think. With Clemson’s stacked roster of stars it could be a nightmare for Dabo.

Coaches for jobs every year?

Students can transfer to other schools anytime.

This is at best an educated guess from me, but I would imagine that the "one time free transfer" would work the same way as the transfer portal does now.

Coaches can't contact players of other schools unless they first enter their name in the portal.

The requirement to sit out or not does not change that coaches have been trying to recruit players off of other teams that are not yet in the transfer portal.

I doubt coaches will chase other teams' players any more now than they did before because the NCAA had basically gotten to the point that every high profile player was being made immediately eligible anyway.

Right,! I admitted I was a dumb #### at the beginning. Cutcliffe is an excellent coach. Caldwell, not as great.
