How are we (according to Rivals) currently rated #2 ahead of FSU in recruiting rankings just a few short months after FSU won a title?
Why does next year's class also look like it'll also be a great class?
I'm not following the argument that FSU winning hurts our recruiting.

I think we'd likely flip in the positions we are in.
However, I do think strong ACC competition actually can help our recruiting overall. Especially if teams like UVA and L'ville step it up while GT and the NC schools remain mired in mediocrity.

Almost every time we go head to head with them for a player we lose.

Thes 5 players signed with Clemson in 2014 after they were offered by FSU: Deshaun Watson Artavis Scott Milan Richard Chris Register Richard Yeargin III
Of course, there will be some on the other side who chose differently.

Losing recruits just because they want to play in the "SEC". We have to build up the ACC if we want to continue attracting the best recruits and there is no better way to do this than for ACC teams to win and stay in contention for National Titles.

Tony Steward was taken right out of Nole country. At his signing the students at his school were doing the stupid chop if I remember correctly. So that's at least 3.

I think he means without hiding out Sammy and his family in a resort area with brad scott till after signing day. also with cj, our competition was with florida not fsu. and if I remember cj was headed back to enroll with the gators until his girlfriend and child were able to land a great place on lake hartwell. but you may not remember those events I guess. we do lose a lot of head to head battles with them and I am sure the nc is a good thing to wave in prospects face but it also helps our conference to win a nc for exposure to all acc teams.

If a player is a rapist they will go to FSU.

If they steal, lie, cheat and generally screw off they will go to FSU.
If they want to straighten out their lives they come to Clemson. If they are good kids who don't want to screw their lives up they'll come to Clemson.
Clemson is peerless and inimitable.

bellamy, Kelly, priester and the kid from Gaffney with the towel rod are just a few examples that say all schools have kids that screw up. so I don't think we are the exception to the rule. but I can understand you trying to paint that picture.

How can you say "WE? You cannot be a Clemson Fan because you never miss an opportunity to criticize the Tigers. What gives? I know in your mind you are the "voice of truth and reason" but in my mind you are nothing more than an antagonist waiting to stir sh!t. Just go away.

What the hell is that guy talking about?
This thread is about recruiting, not who has bad apples.

We need to take advantage of the current dumpster fire in Gainesville and the UGA uncertainty.

Keep up.
This had nothing to do with an "example of where were beating them off the field."
It's clearly a rebuttal to the few on Tigernet that says FSU winning hurts our recruiting.

FSU winning the national championship helps the ACC brand...
Nov 5, 2014, 12:41 AM

It may only be a slight boost, but some recruits used to say, "If you want to win championships, you have to play in the SEC." FSU winning showed that the SEC was no longer dominant, and a team from any league can win it.
If it's FSU vs anyone but the SEC, I'll cheer for the other team, but we recruit against the SEC schools more than we do against FSU. I'd rather FSU wins it all rather than Auburn, Alabama, Georia, etc.

Your answers are there.
Our recruiting is great and FSU is just one school we compete against directly. But if they get it going like they once did it will work against our recruiting in the Sunshine State. And our chances at ACC Championships.

1990s also seen some dumpster fire type coaches at Clemson. Tommy West nor Ken Hatfield could beat themselves out of a wet paper bag imho.

FSU's success doesn't hurt the Tigers recruiting.
But their success does help their recruiting. So it makes it harder for us to beat them.
I would rather they lose often and their recruiting is bad so we can win the division.

Not quite guys!!!! Them doing well helps their recruiting but doesn't hurt ours!!! It does however help our brand and makes our schedule just a bit more relevant if they do well!! So we can then say to our quality recruits "so you wanna come to Clemson and play against the best and compete for a spot in the playoff and win a natty?""" All while being part of a family and getting an great education!" unlike FreeShoesU where integrity is Greek to jimbo

Ok.
Can you explain how Auburn and Alabama both play in the same division and have both won titles in the last few years but still maintain great recruiting classes?
I'm still not following how FSU winning titles hurts our recruiting classes.
I realize it hurts us beating them on the field when they're winning but that's not what I'm asking.
