What has Tony Elliot done in his coaching career to get this

job?
Somebody please explain to me what qualifies Tony to run an offense at an elite level school in division 1 football. Maybe I am missing something. He is a RB coach that played WR for us.
What is the reasoning behind this? He isn't even all that great on the recruiting trail. I would say decent, but not great.
Everybody wanted to find the best hire available. Do you honestly feel Tony Elliot should have anything to do with our offense as an OC?
Trying to wrap my head around this. This is just a ### moment going on right now.

who said he's running the offense? He's a CO-OC

it's literally just a title, we have no idea what his powers are right now, this could be just a move to give him a bit of a raise and keep him on the staff.

Jeff Scott is running the offense and Tony Elliott is a very strong recruiter.

You are literally making my point. The reason Dabo is so good at what he does is because he has made great hires in order to make up for him "just being a WR coach".
And I don't even mind the Jeff Scott hire.

maybe he was going to leave us and we had to give that title to appease him. That's the only logical reason I can think of.

A greater question would be what qualifies you to disqualify

We've been told for years that Jeff Scott was being groomed to take over for Morris. When that finally happened, did you think Dabo would forget that someone will eventually need to take over for Scott?
Further, Elliot's recruiting has really picked up, and he was smart enough to graduate with a good GPA and an engineering degree while also playing football. He's no dummy.
As for being co-OC, I can't explain the title except to say that maybe it was done to keep him from going to SMU.
Or maybe it was done so that Jeff would have some help with the OC duties and could spend more time recruiting than he would have been able to do as sole OC.
On the other hand, it could very well be that Elliot is the brains of the operation and Scott was given the co-OC tag to appease him.

Danny was younger than Jeff (33).Danny was 33 when we won the NC in 1981.Youngest coach to ever do that.
