Glad for the W but felt like a Bowden game to me.

No reason to be in that position. I'll go check myself into the ER now.

Did we have a defense with TB? I don't remember it being this good.

talking about the feel of the game and not closing the deal

By stats, 2006 and 2007 were comparable (top 10 nationally)

But Koenning had a different style. We never had this level of aggression under Bowden.

What are you talking about?

Bowden's teams lost those games. This was no slouch of a team. Louisville is a good football team. To win with your backup QB, against a solid team is the antithesis of Bowden ball. I think you have a distorted view of reality and possibly an agenda yo push.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

what agenda. I like Dabo but can comment on the way

Oct 11, 2014, 7:21 PM

the game went. Everyone else is bashing coaches on here, and I haven't. Do you not remember games that we won with Bowden where we should have won easily? Do you not remember the GT game when bowden was here and we had a lead and kept leaving them in it (rained a bunch that game) and needed a miracle to close it out? I'm talking about not capitalizing on opportunities. I can comment on how the game went as much anyone else.

I'm with badb

Reminded me of a lot of games that Danny Ford coached. Powerful D, great ST, so-so O. A Bowden-coached team more likely would have found a way to lose one like this.

With all his success, his highest salary was $25,000 a year. The president of the university, Dr. R. F. Poole, feared that professors who earned less would be upset. "He called me up and said that he didn't want me to tell anybody what I made," Howard once said. "I said: 'Doc, you don't have to worry. I'm as ashamed as you are of what you pay me.' " - Frank Howard Obituary, New York Times, 01/27/1996

Bowden's team would have missed the FGs.
