Oh brother . When will we ever learn ? Pro sports in particular , should do away with their bylaws that make Marijuana an illegal substance . Do they even know ? I mean it's pathetic , really .

changed. Not agreeing is no reason to break the law.
Like someone else said below, he is appealing, maybe it's appealable, in that it can be explained that it was something else, Then again, maybe it's just a move to get the suspension cut in half.

He wouldn't get 4 games for weed right?

Unless maybe he's failed several tests?
I'm thinking it's roids, prescription stuff, or coke.

Don't be an idiot and throw it away, you can play a game for 10 years . Never have to work again then take any substance you want to.

Where does any post internet wide say marijuana?! I've searched, and searched?! My first thought was the offseason surgery. The NFL bans a ton of innocuous drugs. Such as prednisone, and many antihistamines. Why does everyone jump to the worst conclusion?! Marijuana isn't a four game suspension first offense anyway. It's usually lower. I'm assuming something innocuous. Until the facts come out. Until then, we all know the old saying about assumption! If not, see the first three letters of the word! That's what you can make of yourself by doing it!! If it is a illicit street drug, then he deserves every bit of the bashing he is receiving. Until that info is released, I choose to not dogpile on a downed young man.

As one poster said. It could be something related to his surgery. It could be a steroid from an inhailor. Nose spray contains banned substances.
Why don't we wait and see what come out.

Loss of 4 games money will take that good grain fed beef out of the budget. But he is a young man, gnawing on that cactus and grass fed Mexican beef shouldn't be all that tough for him. He is the one that chose the smoke over the grain fed Filet Mignon or prime Rib!!!

I've been a big Martavis advocate for 4 years
Aug 27, 2015, 5:57 PM

And this news demonstrates pure stupidity and selfishness on Martavis' part. Talk about kicking a gift horse in the mouth. Yet I am all-in as far as wishing him the best for a healthy recovery.
Martavis - Based on your athleticism, genetics and work ethic, you have an opportunity that 99% of us will never have, so get your head out of your a$$ and take advantage of it!

This was actually a smart play by Bryant, here's why
Aug 27, 2015, 7:59 PM
|
|
Assuming it's steroids, which is most likely, he gains 20 lbs of pure muscle that will stay with him for years and that he can add on to. With his appeal, he will miss only 2 games. At 225 he will have much more production in 14 games than he would have in 16 games at 205. Roiding up for one off season is a good career decision, that's why multiple players get busted every year. He just cycled off too late and got caught. Its completely naive to think NFL guys arent doing this. By the way, steroids are perfectly healthy if done the right way.

Having mutual friends and being around him a good bit while we were both at clemson, I'm sure it was pot. A lot of players do it. Hell everybody does it in college and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if this was for pot. Just my two cents

Don't care what anyone says...he barely got out of HS, was never able to get his act & potential together as a Tiger and just as he APPEARS to be figuring things out--Busted. Saw the stories on how he was ranked #1 projected star or something to that effect just a day ago. Just pathetic...

I don't think a failed pot test gets you 4 games. Other players have been suspended 2 games. May explain the appeal.

At least 60-70% of college players smoke weed, Clemson
Aug 27, 2015, 8:17 PM

included. Anybody that thinks otherwise has their head in the sand. Collegiate drug testing is a farce. Why else do you think guys with no issues in college all of a sudden get suspended in the NFL? Surely, you don't think these guys just started.
