What a strange season

Beat #3 Duke and #5 Louisville, end the streak at UNC, and yet still tons of work to do to get into the tournament. We scored 44 points in back to back games just two weeks ago!

would impact our performance. I predict it would be worth an extra win or two each year, and also show recruits on official visits that Clemson cares about basketball.

Injuries and illnesses in key situations has contributed to the strangeness. A healthy Clyde Trapp the first half of the season probably would have been worth about 3 more wins and at least 1 more ACC win. But we knew coming in that he would not be available so that could have been adjusted for. The big one was Simms having the flu against Notre Dame because that easily would have changed that outcome and was less able to be prepared for. That's just 2 key players and most likely 4 wins. Then Hemenway missed a lot of time and Baehre and Hunter barely have played any meaningful minutes.

You could easily argue if UNC had Anthony against us they win, or if State had Bryce the first game, Duke was down two players against us.

It works both ways
