So, at 9:59 of each HALF, the foul totals will reset to 0.

Mar 13, 2017, 10:39 AM

That means that QUARTERS will not be in use as in the women's game. There will not be a stoppage of the clock; therefore, there will be no end of half, time running out scenario at the 10 minute mark.

Is this everyone's understanding of this?

That's pretty much what I gathered.***

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

please to be explain this rule

"Each team is limited to a team total of four personal and/or technical fouls (excluding administrative technical fouls) during each 10-minute segment of each half."

So no matter how hard you hack someone after your team has 4 fouls, you cannot be called for a foul?

Full-contact basketball ----- I LIKE THIS.

Ha. Just in case you weren't fully joking and really need this explained:
This, in a sense, puts you in a double bonus after 4 fouls during that 10 minute stretch. It should eliminate a long, drawn out free throw fest when teams get in the bonus/double bonus early in a half and shoot it out the rest of the way. It also eliminates the pressure on officials to make fouls look more even or to swallow whistles down the stretch after calling things tight early, etc. Just take our game with Duke in the tourney, I KNEW they were going to lay off the whistles in the second half after hitting Duke with so many early and that is exactly what happened.

I'm interested in seeing how this affects the flow of the game.
