Were the coaches aware of Baker's wish to transfer

Feb 8, 2017, 10:18 PM

all along? Would we have offered another scholly to anyone before NSD? Just curious. Not sure that we were in it with anyone else anyway.

I don't know, but it seems..

it still would have better to save it for 2018 for that small class as we did. Whoever they took in 2017 would have just taken a spot from a guy we would sign in 2018 of course. If they found out I am sure it was somewhat late in recruiting.

They offered plenty of talented athletes.

If there would have been some interest and a commitment from a talented enough player, the coaches would have worked the numbers out.

Why offer a less talented player at the last minute when there are walkons who would gladly accept a one year scholly before they graduate? Then you have 1 more to offer next year. That's my take on it.

He's going to graduate in May, so it's a whole different

situation than an undergraduate transfer. Gotta think the coaches are always planning for that, unless a graduate is guaranteed to start.

Where are you getting that info?

All of his schools of interest that I've seen listed are all West Coast teams. Nowhere have I seen any mention of him being interested in Clemson until you posted it today with what seems like a slight regarding Clemson's ability to recruit defensive backs.

I'm sure that the coaches that just won us a national championship know what they're doing. And if I trust Dabo with nothing else in this world, I trust him with recruiting.
