a bigger accomplishment and better for the program long-term to go to a BCS Bowl.

Lord knows we've been on the flip side more often than not (spanking the Coots for our 7th or 8th win and playing in a bad or mediocre bowl game against UK, Colorado, Boise State before it was a big deal to play BSU, etc.).

People and, dare I say future recruits (outside of SC), aren't necessarily going to know (or care) that we lost to USuCk but they're going to see a month's worth of free publicity on ESPN and then watch us play one of the big boys of CFB.

If you can't see that as a positive because "boo hoo we'll just lose to whoever we play because we suck" then go watch the Coots play in Tampa.

But it's NOT the rule, and IF IT WAS, every conference would be under the same rule. Not just Clemson in the acc.
