Trump and the Turd Sandwich

Sep 7, 2018, 7:15 AM

It’s no secret to most of you that I have some strong opinions about the president and his ardent supporters. In a thread the other day I had to be corrected for discussing the presidents criminality and obstruction that he’s admitted to, to be reminded that the topic at hand was his incompetence. All of that should be troubling.

I guess it would be different if we had an intelligent leader with clear concise policy positions that was truly making America great all the whole being dogged by a pesky partisan investigation preventing him from reaching his altruistic goals. That would be a tragedy of justice.

What we have is a petty, senile, shallow, amoral criminal whose worst quality changes depending on the charge level of his cell phone. He lies to the point that fact checkers and the public in general should just assume he’s lying until proven otherwise. He’s gaslighted this board to the point where Putin is more favorable than Obama with a scary percentage of you folks. The investigation isn’t a partisan witch hunt. Anyone with half a brain should be able to see through the lie that the FBI is full of a bunch of angry democrats. FBI full of liberals. Lol.

So next time when I confuse whether the topic at hand is Trumps criminality or incompetence, remind yourself that both are a problem, especially when it’s the president.

Your line of thought/thinking is the only way to think, we get it.

I bet you took some serious time to write this and was so proud to post. Good for you.

I will start with show me where Putin is looked upon more favorably than Obama. Hard evidence needed. Did you take a poll, or are you showing your true liberal self and just “feel” that statement is a fact?

The rest, along with the point above is all personal opinion. I am not enlightened by your opinion, so I am not going to opine on your given opinion.

Obama’s numbers have hovered between 8 and 15% among Republicans

I want to see the results and the questions that was asked in those polls. That makes all the difference.

And you said, “on this board”. Painting with quite a broad brush and still not sticking to the question at hand. How do you know that Pubs on this board like Putin or favor him over Obama?

Anecdotally, I’ve observed it firsthand from folks on this board.

Overwhelmingly unpopular was the headline. Doubles up support among the GOP during the election was the story.

Well, what are you doing about this situation

Sep 7, 2018, 7:42 AM

to make yourself better?

Trump would not be in office except for the choice presented for those running against him. That falls on everyone; democrat, republican, & independent - from the primary to the choice between Hillary of Trump.

What will you do to ensure a better and more trustworthy candidate will have the opportunity to run against Trump...or someone else like him? Because I find it utterly disgusting to think that Hilary Clinton should follow as President of the United States of America after having Obama for eight years.

Why don't you just deal in facts and not make things up...

Sep 7, 2018, 8:25 AM

or repeat the talking points of the day and then you won't have to be corrected.

You're acting like it's ok to use the term "unindicted conspirator" just because he's incompetent. Note that I agree with you that he's not a good POTUS...but that doesn't give you free license to just start making things up.

The funny thing is, those kind of over-the-top statements make conservatives that don't like Trump in general sympathetic to him because of the over-reaction/mis-statements that come from the media and those on the left side of the political spectrum. In other words, if Trump's detractors would stick to valid arguments, their voices would be heard and respected more.

But now, so many run around like their hair is on fire spouting waves of complete nonsense, only to lament the fact that not enough on the right are agreeing with them about Trump.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

well, put. The media would normally call people out like

Sep 7, 2018, 9:01 AM

that, but they are the one's hyperventilating and spouting nonsense so it goes unchallenged.

Sep 7, 2018, 9:26 AM

everyone only wants to deal in 30 second sounds bits and few want to actually take the time to understand issues. The media share in the blame for that too, but it's a 2-way street.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not sure this is across the board.

Sep 7, 2018, 9:41 AM

Most of American who speak out in open support for one side or the other are fallen to their emotions. I do not believe that includes most Americans. The emotional ones are extremely vocal in social media, the news media and on the streets. A few vocal people can appear to be a majority if the real majority remain quiet. The media feeds emotions, they don't seek truth they seek hits, viewers and readers.

Imo, quiet America is snake bit. It happened when those who opposed Obama were all called racist. People who were reluctant to share their views on Obama's policies are still quiet. "A burnt hen stays away from the fire."

I think that is the reason the polls previous to the 2016 election were so wrong. People wouldn't say they supported Trump because the media called them racist. The easy way out was to remain quiet until they pulled the curtains and the levers. I said that to say this.

They don't repeat the media's tripe or get involved in conversations which end in them being called racist, homophobe and other slanderous names because they know they can pull the curtain and lever and vote how they believe. These people are quiet and glean through the news in search of the truth instead of seeking entrance into the emotional fiasco which has become a blight on this country.

We saw the results in 2016 and may see an encore in November.

Sep 7, 2018, 2:43 PM [ in reply to Why don't you just deal in facts and not make things up... ]

Unindicted conspirator applies to Trump as it relates to Cohen's guilty plea. It's not just being made up.

Semantics aside on that point, those over the top statements, aren't all that over the top. Trump is actively making a mockery of the institutions and credibility of his office.

So you have an issue with "unindicted conspirator"

How about shameless liar and incompetent buffoon? Does that register at all? Because it's reality.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sorry, but then you don't know what that term means....

Sep 7, 2018, 2:51 PM

Trump is not named in the Cohen indictment. He has not been named in any indictment. To say or suggest otherwise is just BS.

https://definitions.uslegal.com/u/unindicted-conspirator/

Unindicted Conspirator Law and Legal Definition
An unindicted conspirator is a person or entity that is identified by a law enforcement agency as a member of a conspiracy, but who is not charged in the indictment charging his/her/its fellow conspirators with conspiracy. Prosecutors may opt to name persons as unindicted co-conspirators for a variety of reasons such as: grants of immunity, pragmatic considerations, and evidentiary concerns. They are also known as unindicted co-conspirators.

How about shameless liar and incompetent buffoon? Does that register at all? Because it's reality.

I agree 100%. Again, re-read my post above. Just because I take issue with you making untrue statements (which you did) doesn't mean I think Trump is a good POTUS. He's a liar, he's incompetent, and he's making a mockery out of the office of POTUS.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Then that idiot faced off against the best the left and DNC had to offer. The polls showed the idiot had no shot at winning, the lib was a shoo in, no problem, 'I'll dispense this idiot then we'll continue business as usual.' -Hillary The liberal dem left the warm dear loving state of NY and ignored key states by flying over them for the sunny state of California to the welcome arms of the elites of the west coast. The incompetent idiot went to all those unimportant states time and time again carrying his idiotic message to the average American. What a waste of time.

Then that incompetent moron wore the granny panties off the liberal democrats in 2016 and became President of the United States. What an incompetent moron.

Then the stupid incompetent idiot kept his campaign promises to those flyover states and all those idiots who voted for him. He's put two fine constitutional purist on the SCOTUS as promised, how effing evil can a man get and now there is no swing vote. Total incompetence, complete, absolute and total madness.

You've called him an idiot for three years, dismissing his significance while pointing at things that don't matter to those who voted for him but you have no clue what does matter to the American people and wonder how he got elected?

Gave up a billionaires lifestyle, Spent his own money on his campaign, held 3-4 rallies a week during his campaign, and beat a candidate supported with global political funding of more than a billion dollars, just to be relentlessly attacked daily by the media machine who called his son autistic and his wife an escort. Meanwhile he's racked up more success than the last 4 presidents combined and stays focused on what he promised the people and doing what he said he would do.

Agree not an idiot. Like Stalin & Hitler, Trump is effective

Sep 7, 2018, 9:44 AM [ in reply to That idiot faced... ]

At creating a cult of personality based on nationalism and perceived economic disparity. Each used that cult following to gain political power over a country. This comparison is based primarily on selling emotional based messages, demonizing opponents and weaponizing misinformation. These tactics enlist fervent support to the point where contrary thought and information becomes viewed as unpatriotic.

Stalin and Hitler went on to use their power to create massive crimes against humanity which is NOT being suggested. However, similarities in messaging techniques and acceptance of the message is fascinating.
