It's sad because Clemson Baseball is the only thing at

May 31, 2014, 5:09 PM

Clemson that has shown consistency. I guess golf can be thrown I to that equation, but baseball at Clemson is probably one of the few baseball programs in the country that might actually generate revenue. Since the 50's this program has been the model for consistency and it is easy to see that it is dying a slow death. Not sure I have faith in DRad to pull the trigger because we are seeing now what DRad saw and can still see with Danny Hall at GT. This program needs energy again. The tradition and foundation is there, we just need someone to re-energize the team and the fan base.

just a few short years ago (less than 5) that clemson baseball was one of the handful of d-1 baseball teams to make enough to at least pay their own way.

you're basing your argument on hearsay?

May 31, 2014, 5:46 PM [ in reply to it is ]

I have no idea if Clemson baseball makes or loses money.

But I do know that you just used hearsay to try to validate your position.

You just lost your case in court.

hard to believe a 11.7 scholly program that sells

May 31, 2014, 5:46 PM [ in reply to it is ]

several thousand season tickets plus significant concession revenue would lose more money than a rowing program that give 35(+/-) schollys and generates zero revenue. Same for almost every women's sport.

the expenses are through the roof

May 31, 2014, 6:32 PM [ in reply to hard to believe a 11.7 scholly program that sells ]

50-60 game season(longest of any college sport, bar tennis) with a lot of away trips. Large teams that have to be fed and housed on way trips. Expensive equipment like bats and gloves and uniforms and cleats. The field requires a lot a lot of upkeep, more so than any other sport except football. And lots of renovations which cost oodles of money

If You Think We Lost Money This Year

May 31, 2014, 6:51 PM

just wait until next year if Leggett is still coaching. It will get very nasty for the few fans who show up.This is where DRad shows how tough he is.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yep, attendance will drop like a stone***
