man with over 50 years in a volatile business (and still working by the way) and with over 55 years yelling for the Tigers would have reached that point of life where peace, quiet and relaxation are the foci every day.
Yet, here I go again, allowing my "riles" to get all riled up, ready to don the armor, mount the most ferocious steed and launch all-out war! And I'd bet there ain't a diehard Clemson fan in this nation that wouldn't be right along side, also ready for battle....providing they are really honest with themselves and everyone else.
I joked a long time ago that I didn't believe in just beating opponents; rather (and call it my old infantry/airborne thinking) I want us to pulverize our foes into dust, leaving no doubt as to our power. I don't like this #$*%×@#@$& initial poll one d... bit - not for a nanosecond. I particularily don't buy into the philosophy of our ranking versus Bama's. Period.
But I'll live with it for now, because ultimately, I don't believe that chicken-sh*t committee would have the guts to leave Clemson out of the top four, if we remain undefeated.
Thus, the task at hand: to do what Dabo has said all along: take each game one-step-at-a-time. Focus...focus...focus. Which is precisely what you can bet on: our staff and team will go into massive overdrive henceforth. And unlike, perhaps, a lot of my good pals here on TNet, I hope we utterly and thoroughly take the d--- pigskin and ram it down the throats of every remaining opponent, then go into the playoffs and kick those SOB's back to where in the he1l they came from.
GOOOOOOOOOO TIGERRRRRRRRRRRS! BEAT THE HE1L OUT OF ONE AND ALL!

Your comment "not for a nanosecond" made me think of this.
United States Navy rear admiral Grace Hopper (deceased '92) taught me about a nanosecond years ago. It basically measure how far light can travel in a nanosecond, which is approximately one foot - 14". She distributed pieces of wire with the exact measurement of a nanosecond that I kept for years. I always admired this brilliant lady.
You're only 72? Good grief, and I thought you were old. Most of my tennis buddies would call you a youngun'. 
Cheer up though, we will get thru the pain and enjoy watching them eat the crow that they richly deserve.
