Was a continuation of my last trip to the Broad River that was a killer. O left Easley thsi morning at 7:50 and I was on the water put if Remley's Landing at 11:15. Shortly thereafter I put the first trout in the boat and 50 minutes after that the second one...I was happy as a lark........until I cranked my motor up to head on up towards highway 41...

Nothing but IDLE! So,being the responsible husband I am and not wanting to worry my wife, I took a quick survey of my situation. I quickly determined that the tide would still be going OUT, for about4 more hours, and at 2 miles an hour( the estimated pace that I was going) that I could fish until about 2:30 or 3 using my trolling motor, and then head south towards the Atlantic Ocean, and hopefully make it to Remley's BEFORE the tide changed.So, that is what I did and it worked like a charm...

boat dealer to get someone to look at my motor......they only worked on Yamahas, but kindly directed me to the Mercury Man, who was closed when I got there. So, I headed up 17 towards the house at Litchfield. Thoroughly put out, thinking I would be resolved to sitting on the beach all week, I almost passed up stopping at the car wash in Georgetown where I always rinse off my boat. But,as luck would have it, I stopped. Annnd, while rinsing my boat off, a fella walked up behind and said,"You catch any fish?"

On me".. He said , " what's it doin' "...so I explained it all to him, diaguated as I was that I couldn't possibly get it fized until I got back to Easley....and he says," Lemme look at it....Imma boat mechanic" ....I swear on my Punt Pass and Kivk trophy I won in 1966 that is the truth....Boys.....he fixed me ip at rhe Georgetown do it uouraled car wash in 5 minutes! OLE Spud is good to go for tomorrow....I gave him those two 20 inch trout and some money to buy beer with and took a selfie with him...A friend for life!

BTW, you're up to 60 degrees on this photo, which is an improvement from your usual 90 degrees.
Keep it up, you'll be vertical by the 1st kickoff.

Spud you should try fishing standing upright instead of sideways. Makes it easier to cast

Come back down in dead January and fish that same flat you’re on, the reds school up by the hundreds on cold sunny days.
That’s a very fishy part of the wando year round
