Last night's loss sucked. The OL couldn't open up anything for the run game, team made too many mistakes (the scoop & score on the blown up pitch & the late hit in 1OT being the biggest; Rodgers' fumble was just a bang-bang play). The defensive injuries caught up w/ us & the playcalling offensively (especially w/ sticking w/ run-first plays when we weren't moving the ball offensively), combined w/ the lousy officiating, hurt us.
The margin narrowed a good bit, but the team still have their goals on the table. First things first is getting healthy during the bye week & getting some guys back, as well as cleaning up the mistakes (this week should be a hell week for the OL as well). One thing we have seen from the program is responding after a loss. So between the bye week to address issues & getting some guys back from injury, hopefully the players & staff cone back w/ a renewed focus. & despite the loss, we are still in position for the ACCCG via tiebreaker over Miami. & considering ND needed 2OT to beat us w/ depleted roster, that we should hopefully do better in a rematch & be in a position for a CFP spot. So here's hoping no postponements/cancellations affect our conference standing & we wrap up w/ a strong finish.
