Well I’ve been a little B today

Started this morning, trying to read my daughter “The Rainbow Bridge”. Didn’t make it halfway through before voice started cracking, couldn’t make it the whole way through. Off and on throughout today. And now my boy is off to the vet on his last car ride.
It’s been a good 13 year run, adopted him from a shelter in Southern MD in 2008. I ran the numbers and estimate around 10,000 miles in road trips and moves with me. I got him 6 months before I met my wife, and he made it through all of my kids births.
RIP Boomer, see you on the other side of the bridge.
Imma go fix me a drink a tear up a little more.

it's the worst part of having (not owning) dogs. 13 yrs and a whole lot of major life events is pretty dang good.

I've got eight over the bridge. I'm sure when they hear there's another Tiger coming, they'll find Boomer and welcome him with frantically wagging tails and aroo-o-o-oo-o-oo--o-s. Never gets easier, but I've learned the hard way it's best for them to help them across when it's time. Leaving it too long can get ugly. Godspeed, Boomer.
