We will beat Ohio State for a third time come 31 December...

Ohio State... is there a fanbase that feels more entitled to be highly ranked every year than the Buckeyes? Maybe Oklahoma... I've been holding my water commenting on Ohio State, but I think there are some things to remember about Ohio State - particularly when it comes to them playing Clemson.

1. Ohio State has NEVER beaten Clemson in football. We have played twice and both times Clemson beat Ohio State. Our victories have both come against Ohio State teams coached by two of their best coaches in program history; Woody Hayes and Urban Meyer.

2. Ohio State's signature win this season was against Oklahoma. Give them credit for going into Norman and beating Oklahoma like a yard dog. But, we ain't Oklahoma as Clemson's defense has a heartbeat and our offense that is better than anything the nut-heads have seen all year. What about Ohio State's victory over Michigan you say? Having watched the Michigan game it was a real snoozer - epitome of a Big10 pillow fight and not the "game of the century" as pimped by ESPN. Sorry ESPN, Michigan was playing with a gimped up QB where 14 of Ohio States whopping 17 end of regulation points were due to said gimped up QB throwing 2 interceptions (one of which was a pick 6) deep in Michigan's own territory....BORING...

3. Ohio State has struggled against defenses with a pulse. Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan, and Michigan State all gave Ohio State's offense fits - Clemson's defense is way better than any of those Big10 teams. Yes Michigan - our defense (particularly our front 7) is better than yours and by the way - so is our offense. Add to the fact we get both Pagano and Yeargin back - I predict Ohio State will struggle a good part of the game against our defense.

4. Every year, it seems these "blue blood" fan bases and their fanboy talking heads fail to believe Clemson can hang with their over-hyped team. Some of this happens because of the false narrative that the Big10 is the toughest football conference and that some lowly ACC team can't hang with the "big boys". Gee, we have never heard that before (looking at you SEC) and every year it seems to bite the pundits in the buttocks. So let's review some recent history shall we... LSU (2012), Ohio State (2013), Oklahoma (2014), Oklahoma (2015) all have one thing in common. Clemson beat all of these teams, with only one of the games (the LSU game) being physically close. The 2013 Ohio State game score was not indicative of how Clemson really physically dominated Ohio State for most of that game. Braxton Miller is still pulling pieces of Spencer Shuey's face mask out of his chest. If not for the ridiculous penalty calls against the Tigers that game would never have been as close as it was. This year will be no different - if we don't turn the ball over and play mentally smart - we will beat Ohio State for a third time.

5. Ohio State will be the first recipient of the Tiger's renewed "proving the world wrong" physical wrath. DW4 did not make first team all ACC nor did he win the Heisman. These results are viewed as insults not just by Dabo and DW4, but by the whole team. The slight to DW4 by the ACC and Heisman voters increased that chip on the teams shoulder to a log on their shoulder. Whereas the Pitt loss re-ignited the teams passion for winning, the latest Heisman and all ACC snubs will be the final mental element that results in Clemson winning a National Championship. These Tigers are on a mission and there is just one thing left to do - win the whole fracking thing.
