Dabo should have his head examined ........

for calling prevent defense at the end! And YES, it was Dabo's call. The HC makes those types of calls, not the DC.
And Dabo or Boulware's position coach should make him run sprints every day this week till he pukes! What was he thinking to run towards that punt when everyone else clear out!! Stupid!!! He could have tripped or gotten his feet tangled with a Ga. player and just as easily fallen into the ball and allowed Uga. to score a gift TD. That was insanely stupid!
We won, so I'm super happy, but we will NOT win a championship playing this way. Too many stupid mistakes by our players and coaches! Too many dropped passes by our receivers!! And too many mistakes by our special teams!!
We took what could & should have been an easy 14 to 17 point win and turned it into a nail bitter!! That is NOT going to win championships!!
Great win, but we have a LOT of improving to do before we play FSU!

I think you're wrong. This was way bigger, since we are top to bottom a lot more complete of a team than that one. Better QB, more balance, a D that looks like it'll be physical and capable of improving throughout the year. We have better depth on the 2-deep all around.
Had some great players that year, but this team is better.

I'm fine with discussing coaching decisions and player abilities/errors, but to do so 30 minutes after a huge win and to do so to grind that ax against Dabo (and beat the drum for Danny), simply seems like someone who will never be happy.

I'm not too ticked about the D late
Sep 1, 2013, 12:19 AM

They were loose no doubt, but at the same time, 2 of those plays came with UGA pushing and our audibles on D not getting in. And the long run, the dude stepped out of bounds at the 3.
But yeah, I do hate the prevent.
This time, though, I can't be too upset.

No one is arguing that prevent was the right call. No one is arguing players didn't make bonehead (your word) errors.
But what we are saying is we won, and are happy.
Heck I just heard Dabo say "We did enough to win, but we have to get better". Does that make you happy? That he isn't under some misconception that it was a perfect game?

Our O clicked at times, but for the most part never got rolling against what was supposed to be a young inexperienced and vulnerable defense. We've got a tune-up game, a bye, and a game against a back-up NC State QB to get it worked out before FSU.

Watch out. They brought the LB's A LOT, but we couldn't make them pay for it. Tajh did a good job of eluding the pressure. However, the way you play against that kind of D is with quick passes which worked at times. We didn't get many chances to threaten deep like Morris likes to do. It didn't help that we had some drops on what were catchable deep balls.

really happy with mcd & brooks. i really worried about our O in the first game being "rusty" and at times it was, but what a great drive to go up 10 late.

fan would agree. Giving them an easy TD and on sides kick takes the control out of our hands and gives it to fate & luck. Stupid!!

ABC & ESPN are to be congratulated on the superior coverage, especially The Tigers' run down the hill touching Howards' Rock. The announcers were outstanding, the camera work was superb. All Clemson Men & Women should be proud of the way national television portrayed our great school and traditions. I remember when we won the national championship against Nebraska- the announcers were so bias against Clemson and brought up every negative thing they could come up with- so this was truly special.
This was a tough game and a tough GA Football team. Dabo shouldn't be criticized just minutes after the game. He is a Great Clemson Coach & a very positive influence for the players, the fans and the school.

Dabo did a great job tonight and boulware was blocked into the ball. He was trying to shield the guys on UGA from getting the ball so they couldn't down it at the one. I love his hustle. Nice win tigers!!!!
