My son and I really enjoy watching Major League Fishing.

We have our favorites and try to guess the weight of most fish. They catch a lot of small mouth bass and I would love to try some. Please let me know if it is worth trying.

a half a mile back to the truck and then back while I held that one in the river. She was a little over 25 inches long. Caught her on those rocks right behind me......

Colder water then. There's a reason

Mar 11, 2019, 9:44 PM

They aren't in most waters in SC. Don't see them south of NC/Tenn in most places. I've caught a few in the Congaree River in winter time but mostly they are up the Broad and Saluda here in Columbia where the water is cooler

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I catch a lot of them in the Broad. That water gets 90 plus

in the summer. It is like bath water....

But they've migrated down from NC

and they don't go further south. They're in the Murray tailrace in the Saluda as well but have never made it down the Congaree to Santee in all the years they've been in those 2 rivers. I think they're stocked in both rivers now BTW. I fish the Congaree a lot and have never caught them except when it's colder, and not often then.

Of course the Broad and Saluda both have a bunch of rocks and that's more their habitat

Lake Issaqueena has a few nice ones.***

Small mouth trip at least once a year. There are some good rivers in N.C. and Tennessee. I love it...quite a change from large mouth fishing in the Lowcountry...which is our norm.

I highly recommend it.
