has thrown 90+ pitches by the 5-6 inning . . . it irks me that we can't, or refuse to, hit an outside ball to the opposite field
I'm not going to argue with the new dynamics of "driving" the ball . . . but we must stop trying to pull a low and away breaking ball, that is digging further away with every inch it travels . . . the body and hips are in full turn to time a fastball . . . but the eyes must notice the spin and tell the hands to be quiet (delayed) and the ball needs to be stroked with authority to the opposite field . . . it's not rocket science!!! . . . it is a learned skill . . . if I could be taught, anybody can!!!
Many thanks to Hugh Betchman, my Father and Harold Boozer (all from Sumter, SC) for teaching an ok middle infielder the art of driving an outside curveball to right field!!!

We need to get hold of a couple of copies of “The Science of Hitting” by Ted Williams and send them to the team. Make it required reading for all coaches and players. It couldn’t hurt.
